Physical theatre is the closest genre to DÓ, a performance that connects contemporary circus (juggling and object manipulation) and dance. We’re exploring new possibilities in the collaboration of two bodies – the two principles of modern juggling and movement. We’re seeking the connection between mastering the art of circus and the perception of mastership in Eastern culture – a fusion of craft and spirit.
“From the standpoint of Zen it is no contradiction to say that artistic technique is discipline in spontaneity and spontaneity in discipline.”
– Alan W. Watts, The Way of Zen
A fusion of dance and circus in the simplicity of haiku. We are going down a path with no end or beginning. It just flows. A path winding through poetry, dance, theatre, space, and time through skill, craft, and art. Emphasising the essence of being – in the present, regardless of the past or the future.
